Senior Scientist, General Electric
Dr. Tapan Shah is a Senior Scientist at GE Global Research since 2014. Prior to joining GE, he finished his PhD in Computer Science at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. His research interests lie in the identifying the fundamental trade-off between information and energy limits of machine learning. Tapan has been granted 4 patents and has published over 10 articles in peer-reviewed conferences and journals. He has also been an active participant in several optimization competitions, winning the AI4TSP competition, where the winning entry combined latent space search with genetic algorithms to solve stochastic routing problems. He is member of the program committee of several machine learning conferences like ECML, IAAI etc. He also received the “5 under 5” award from GE CTO for his contribution to machine learning at GE.
